The months this province actually spends.
An annual plan written in January and never looked at again is a decoration. The calendar below is how Sense Weavefield reads a household year in Narathiwat, and why the mid-year sitting exists.
Jan – Mar
Opening sittings
The room is fullest after the new year, when households still remember December and have not yet promised April away. This is when most Annual Household Plans begin. We name three goals, mark the months that are usually thin, and write who watches each line. If you only want the three names, a Goal Mapping Sitting fits this season just as well.
April
Songkran, travel, and gifts
Roads fill. People visit parents and siblings, sometimes as far as Pattani or Hat Yai. The cash for fuel, gifts, and a few nights away should already have a place in the plan. If it does not, April borrows from May. We would rather see a shorter trip written in March than a school term met with excuses in May.
May – Jun
School costs, and rubber when the rain interrupts
The school year asks for uniforms, transport, food money, and any fee the school has posted. Households who sell rubber sheet often meet quieter tapping weeks when rain stops the work, or when trees shed leaf. Those quieter weeks should not be the same weeks the school line falls due, if the plan can separate them. Fishing households do the same exercise with weeks the boat stays in.
Jul – Aug
The mid-year sitting
Half the year is visible. We set the written plan beside what actually left the house: a repair that cost more, a month of good catches, a ceremony that was larger than the figure. Lines move in pencil. Goals on the back of the page are read once. Households inside the Annual Household Plan already have this hour. Others who kept their own notebook can book the Mid-year Plan Sitting on its own.
Sep – Nov
Second term, the house, and festival savings
A second school term arrives, and so do repairs people hoped to finish before heavier rain. Some households also set money aside for a fasting month and the festival that follows. We do not assume every family observes those days. If you do, say so at the opening sitting and the plan will give them a line of their own, instead of letting them surprise the house fund in the autumn.
December
What should be copied into next year
Ceremonies, visitors, and the annual feeling that January will be more orderly than it is. Before the office closes for a short break at the end of the month, we note which lines are worth carrying forward and which were a one-time cost. That note is the start of the next opening sitting, not a new fee.
